Olivari - Olive theme park

Olive cultivation in Istria has a long tradition, although it was not always equally recognized. In recent decades, education and the renewal of olive groves have restored Istria’s place on the world olivegrowing map. The thematic olive park in the town of Fažana, Croatia, was created as a project that combines the region’s rich history and olive-growing tradition with a contemporary interpretation of this precious Mediterranean symbol.

The concept centers on hands as a symbol of manual work and the human connection to olive cultivation. Stylized, flat-cut hand-shaped signs are placed throughout the park, visually representing activities such as picking and raking olives. A second group of signage is intended for adult visitors, where hands hold informative panels, while playful elements for children encourage interaction and exploration, making the park a place of learning through play. The project transforms the olive grove into an interactive thematic park that brings together education, play, and cultural interpretation, enriching the visitor experience and celebrating the tradition of olive growing.
