The Fantazija Quarry

The Rovinj Fantazija Quarry, also known as Cava di Monfiorenzo, is the only geological natural monument in the Istrian region, protected for its scientific, aesthetic, and educational value of dolomitic rocks. In 2022 it was renovated and opened as a significant site and an additional attraction of Rovinj and Istria. Our task was a comprehensive one, from developing the brand’s main communication strategy and designing its visual identity to creating and implementing all marketing communication materials.

The rocks of the Fantazija Quarry reveal the history of this area stretching back millions of years, all the way to the age of the dinosaurs. This unique characteristic served as the key inspiration for the creation of the visual identity. The richness of its morphological forms is represented through stylized layers. Moreover, the name “Fantazija Quarry – Cava di Monfiorenzo” is placed among these layers, symbolically reflecting how the site’s rich history can be “read” within the strata themselves.
